Today, Monday, June 29, registration has officially opened for the 64th Tenor Viñas International Singing Contest, which will take place from 16 to 24 January 2027. The application deadline is 16 September 2026.
The international preliminary auditions will be held throughout November 2026 at the following venues:
- 3 November – Teatro Real (Madrid)
- 5 November – Metropolitan Opera House (New York)
- 9 November – Royal Opera House Covent Garden (London)
- 10 November – Opéra National de Paris (Paris)
- 15 November – Teatro alla Scala (Milan)
- 16 November – Los Angeles Opera (Los Angeles)
- 16–17 November – Staatsoper Berlin (Berlin)
- 30 November – National Centre for the Performing Arts (Beijing)
The preliminary auditions in Barcelona will take place in January 2027. The Opera category will be held on 12, 13 and 14 January, while the Oratorio-Lied category will take place on 15 January.
The public final rounds will be held from 17 to 24 January 2027. The Grand Final will take place on Friday, 22 January, and the Winners' Concert on Sunday, 24 January, both at the Gran Teatre del Liceu.
The 64th edition features distinct competition rules for the Opera and Oratorio-Lied categories.
